  • Glad you ask- it’s just like it sounds! On your wedding day, you can hire an artist to capture key moments and details. The artist provides delightful entertainment by painting the bride and groom while the party goes on. This timeless piece of art will last a lifetime as an immortalizing family heirloom.

  • Depending on the complexity of the painting contents, the artist will arrive 2-3 hours during or before the ceremony starts to paint the background in. Once the artist has photos of the couple to use for the painting, she will use the remaining 4-6 hours during the reception to work. The duration from start to finish is generally 8-10 hours, with additional studio time to add finishing touches.

  • The artist works in stylistic realism for most work, though the secondary option of simple abstract/illustrative style is available for guest paintings! Stylistic realism captures the beauty and life from the day, while the option of abstract guest portraits provides a whimsy, cute keepsake.

  • Live wedding painting costs vary artist to artist. For a painting by Ashley, the current cost is between $900 and $2400.

  • Currently, Ashley is taking bookings throughout southeast Louisiana. Out of State bookings are determined after discussion of location. All services are available in US only.

  • The bride and groom can expect their wedding portrait at least 1 month after the celebration to allow dry time. Along with the painting will include a complementary frame.

  • Yes, travel fees are added if the venue/location is outside of the set radius (60 miles), though most packages already accommodate for these fees. Hotel stay fees will be added if location exceeds 120 miles.

  • A non-retainer of 15% down-payment must be set upon agreement.

    • 30+ days out: cancellation results in loss of deposit.

    • <30 days out: 50% of the remaining balance is charged

    • <14 days out: 100% of cost, as new booking for date is highly unlikely for the artist

The Process

Event set up

Before the event, your artist will need to connect with your wedding coordinator or venue to confirm set-up location. The artist will arrive at least 1 hour prior to the event to set up her workspace and supplies. If the wedding does not take place near the venue, the artist will first attend the wedding to acquire photos from the photographer or use her own camera.

Artistic Creation

After setting up, the artist will proceed to paint as guests arrive. Depending on the agreed upon time, the artist will spend the full reception as an interest in entertainment as she paints!

After the reception, your artist will take down her set up and leave the area clean according to the agreements with the coordinator. A follow-up message will be given to the client about the take home date.

Congrats! Your portrait is underway to full completion. Your artist will finish all hired works in studio and bid your piece a final farewell.
